Candy Apples

With all of the apples I got at the farm I decided to make some Candy Apples.  Candy Apples take me back to when I was a kid.  Growing up in Connecticut, every 4th of July the carnival would come to town.  My two favorite things at the carnival were the fried dough also known as funnel cakes with confectioners sugar and the candy apples.

I purchased a Candy Apple kit at the supermarket.  The instructions are easy to follow. You just add water and sugar to the mix and let it boil.  Once the syrup is ready...just start dipping the apples one at a time.  Make sure to spray the plate you are putting them on with cooking spray so they won't stick.

Make sure the apples are free of wax, wash and dry them really good.  Insert the sticks thru the top part of the apples.

As you dip them, keep turning to make sure they are covered completely.  These were really fun to make.  I made a total of 8 because these were bigger apples, and my nephews were really happy.
